Developers hitch ride on bypass

Developers are leading the race for prime land in Tugun as the beachside suburb braces for a multi-million-dollar renaissance in 2007, when the Tugun bypass nears completion.

The southern Gold Coast suburb, known more for its traffic bottleneck than its beautiful beaches, is shaking off a reputation as the poor cousin to neighbouring Currumbin and Coolangatta.
