Kirra wave quality bid
Gold Coast City Council is pushing the Queensland government to review sand dredging at Kirra to improve the break's once-legendary waves.
Southern Gold Coast councillor Chris Robbins said the council had decided to press the government to change the way sand is pumped from and to Kirra, to address concerns of the surfing community that ongoing beautification works along the coastline would not improve Kirra's wave quality.
