A sea change, for sure
Take a good look now because the Kirra foreshore makeover is well under way.
Gold Coast City Council work on the multimillion-dollar foreshore project is set to transform Kirra into a budding rival to California's Venice Beach, with plans to extend the boardwalk facelift across the border.
Rotting timber stairways and grubby beach access points at Kirra have been ripped down and sand works are under way to move sand from the shoreline and build it up on the beachfront.
